Update: Antioch Police Say Man Remains in Critical Condition After Shooting Last Week

The Antioch Police said Wednesday that a victim remains in critical condition after a shooting last week in the City of Antioch.

According to Officer Darryl Saffold, Strategic Communications Officer , he confirmed the shooting and the subject is currently in critical condition.

The shooting occurred on December 22 at approximately 9:13 PM, when Antioch Police Department Dispatch began receiving numerous 911 calls of multiple gunshots being fired in the area of Vista Grande Drive and Catanzaro Way. When patrol officers arrived, they found multiple casings in the street and located blood on the sidewalk and on a vehicle that was parked in the area.

Moments later, a victim that had multiple gunshot wounds was dropped off at Kaiser Emergency Room and was immediately rushed into surgery. At the time of this release, the victim was still in critical condition

According to sources in the area, the shooting occurred in the 4900 block of Waterford Way and the victim was shot twice.

Saffold said due to the ongoing and active nature of the investigation, no further information will be released at this time.
