The Antioch Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Sunday morning that left one subject wounded.
According to police, the incident occurred on Sycamore Avenue near Sycamore Square at approximately 11:50 am when officers responded to shots fired. Preliminary information was that a 24-year-old male was the victim of an attempted robbery and after a brief struggle, he got away.
Next, both males got into separate vehicles to flee the scene when gunfire erupted with an estimated 15-rounds being fired which left the victim of the attempted robbery wounded with non-life threatening injuries. Shots from the exchanged gunfire struck multiple buildings during the incident.
As of Thursday, the investigation is still active and the suspect is not in custody.

Sound like California needs to assist their law abiding citizens in obtaining concealed weapons permits. So that victims have a fair chance at self defense and can stop being at the mercy of criminals with guns.
Some people illegally carry just because of stories like this. They go by rather be judged by 12 then carried by 6.

The article says there was an exchange of gunfire. So the victim was armed. And they managed to shoot several buildings and not each other. Free shooting lessons for criminals might be more effective at reducing crime.
