Thorpe you need to meet gang bangers and make sure they keep to shooting themselves and leave the rest of community alone. Council should increase monies and not defund. Just saying.

The mayor needs to get off the soapbox of police reform and get on the soapbox of ghetto reform that’s his problem in this town is not the cops.

we need to reform the culture and people of this town, clearly. the police do not need any kind of restraint being put on them in this warzone the “mayor” is calling a city. its dangerous, one of the most dangerous places in america and thats not an exaggeration. when criminals like tamisha walker are basically taking a clear stance on protecting the gang banger thugs she loves so much, it doesnt spell out any kind of hope for the law abiding people in this city, which is an ever dwindling number. you guys are forcing law abiding citizens to illegally carry firearms to defend themselves while basically advertising to criminals that they will not be punished.

Antioch is changing from the quiet podunk it used to be, when it was a bucolic pass thru tothe UPick farms in Brentwood. The old timers are upset about that. Those of us who came here for the affordabilty ( unaware of the horrendous highway 4 commute) are basically city people who kinda liked the slower pace. Now, however, thanks to the real estate debacle of the early 2000’s, the city finds itself unequipped to deal with the urbanization and is at a loss as to how to deal with the transition. As of now, the city is sinking, and there appears to be no real leadership. As a result, some very radical folks are now in charge. And it sucks. The city needs to figure this out. Soon. Perhaps a recall is in order here, though creating districts ( wards) makes it difficult to stem this wound. Smart people need to step up here

Defund Police my ass. We need more officers, a serious mayor, who wants to arrest and prosecute criminals, and vote for a DA that is not bought and paid for. This county is turning to shit, allow law enforcement to do their jobs and stop letting criminal behavior be acceptable. These thugs no the difference between right and wrong and know today’s soft approach on crime. Look around and ask yourself do you want the new normal, I certainly do not. I want law and order and turds to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
