by ECT

At 5:32 pm Tuesday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the CVS Pharmacy on Lone Tree Way in the City of Antioch.

According to preliminary information, police received a call regarding two females who entered the store with hammers and headed to the alcohol section of the store. They then proceeded to use the hammers to break the glass and steal $2,500 worth of alcohol. They then left the store and fled in a vehicle.

A short time later, the two suspects were located in the City of Pittsburg where both females were taken into custody.  Some of the alcohol was recovered.

Police identified the suspects as Adaiah Dotson (25) and Yolonda Cervantes (33).

Police did not release any additional information but said more information would be released later Wednesday,

UPDATE per Antioch Police

During the early hours of dusk, a pair of burglars entered a CVS and used hammers to smash the glass to an alcohol display case, in what could be only described as an attempt to stock up for New Year’s Eve . As the suspects ransacked the cabinet, one of the wrongdoers was described as having a firearm in their waste band. The brazen pair of offenders amassed approximately $2,500 worth of alcohol and fled the area.

Luckily, an alert citizen captured pertinent details of the getaway vehicle and relayed that info to our circulating officers. Fortified with the relevant information provided by our stalwart Samaritan, officers located the vehicle as it headed into Pittsburg. With the assistance of our friends at Pittsburg PD , the suspects were safely detained and arrested.

After searching the escape vehicle, the stolen alcohol was located as was the described firearm and tools of their dastardly deed.

Thank you to the Pittsburg Police Department for always lending a helpful hand and a special thanks to our citizens that continue to be one of the largest contributors in the apprehension of those who commit crime.

Please be responsible this holiday season as we venture into the New Year. -6136

Let me guess? Someone at Antioch PD is taking a Creative Writing class at Los Medanos?
The citizens of Antioch should be upset because at least three-quarters of their citizens are not going to comprehend a lot of these words.
Brazen, pertinent, stalwart, fortified, dastardly?
But we will need to edit “waste” to “waist” when used in reference to pants.

Start reporting all these type of criminals as
” displaying a large handgun, and said they’ll shoot police”. Let’s see what happens.
Can’t wait for the body count to RiSE😉
