Strange, these type of incidents are a non occurrence in my new town in El Dorado County. ?

I’m sorry for those that still have to deal with the never ending s-hole it has become around there. The cost of housing doesn’t match the quality of life expected. Get out while you can. Let the trash have it.

See more evidence we need to defund the police reduce sentencing and focus on hugs not handcuffs.

There was another shooting in downtown Antioch as well today. Antioch is the new Compton.

Glad to see Antioch PD snatch these criminals. These are the same police officers which Tamisha Walker did a 9 minute foul mouthed rant against and the same officers Mayor Lamar Thorpe wants to defund. Maybe Antioch actually needs more police and more tools to prevent crime, not less. These two idiots need to resign or be recalled.

Dude not hardly..as someone who grew up in compton..Antioch has nothing on Compton so choose more accurate comparisons…hyperbole is not needed

ComotonCali Feb 24, 2021 - 6:58 pm

So because they don’t agree with your perspective on the policing if Antioch..they should be removed? Well that sure isn’t the way a democratic society should operate. There should be room for decent and discord which opens the door for meaningful dialog and hopeful results. Just saying…way to may take it or leave it extremes…I didn’t kniw a little town like Antioch was so divided and low key racist. Not saying your are just giving a overall opinion based on a number of comments I have read over the past few years and more so since Thorpe won the mayorialship.

The goal for the city of Antioch‘s police department should be 200 officers for a city of this size. It has been known for years that that is what the goal should have been when we went over 100,000 population.

Great job, Antioch PD! Would this guy feel as brazen if he knew lots of people at Target could be carrying a concealed firearm and knew how to use them?

Nick P Feb 24, 2021 - 7:27 pm

Hey mayor Thorpe, did the Police officers that arrested the 2 perps hand them cards with their names, badge numbers, and phone number for complaints. Isn’t that one of the new police policies you are looking at?

Start filing lawsuits against the city county and state
They are all responsible
And if im on the jury
YOU WILL WIN MY VOTE!!!
It all starts with keeping criminals where they belong!!!!

Keith Petty Feb 24, 2021 - 7:42 pm

Every time i here or see a story of crime it includes the past criminal behavior
Look at today’s story of the guy cutting out the heart of a woman
He was just released from another crime
Its the same story over and over
Criminals are criminals
Most are animals
Sue the system for not protecting you!!!
The whole system!!!
Some tree hugging liberal has to be held accountable!!!!

Sterilization is the only answer. When trash can breed this is the result time after time.

Compton? San Jose, San Francisco, Richmond….
Don’t let situations going on in Antioch and the rest of the Bay Area dampen your outlook on being ALIVE. We have to give our new politicos a chance. Pray and stay safe.

I feel sorry for APD, they could at least have their body cameras. This is insane. What a waste of life. Something like the value of life is not being taught in Antioch schools. Guess Antioch City Council put an end to that too. That total dump they are building in Pittsburg by the water plant isn’t going to help things either. Love sitting in traffic for that. Well, now I guess the Targets will be leaving town next.

Huggs not cuffs….retard

Richard Ellis Feb 25, 2021 - 3:45 am

It was the pharmacist who was shot in the led. Why didn’t the cops shoot the two scumbags but just arrested them? Tamisha Walker should have her ass booted off the council. She doesn’t belong there in the first place. She’s a convicted arsonist!

LoveableCurmudgeon Feb 25, 2021 - 4:13 am

Family values….let’s see. You grow up (?) and, for some odd reason, you decide that, HEY!, I think my buddy and me will go rob a store. Because, you know, getting a JOB to actually EARN some cash is for chumps. Yep. Imagine the values being taught by the caring and ever loving parents. Ahhhhhhhhhh

Steve B Feb 25, 2021 - 9:05 am

Richard Ellis, it was not the pharmacist that was shot in the leg. It was a patron of the store. I happen to know him and he is one of the nicest and decent people I know. Fortunately the physical injury will heal. The police really need the citizens of Antioch’s support now more than ever.

When i see individuals stealing from the dollar store, it gives me no faith in mankind as a whole, SMH!!! These ghetto rats need to be locked up for the rest of their lives to think they are owed something and trying to take it. Go get a job, and pay for it!!! This kind of attitude is partly due to that ghetto hoodrat on the Antioch City Council, who couldn’t take the fact she was being evicted, so she kicked in the front door and burned the place down!!! When I emailed Mayor Thorpe, he co-signed and fed me a line of crap. GTFOH, this town is in the toilet, and will stay there unless we get those 2 off city council and make some needed changes, which includes more police!!

I wonder if this proposal will affect police response abilities. I hope not

Thanks for setting the record straight, Steve B. It definitely wasn’t the pharmacist. 🙂 Those of us that know…know!
