The East Bay Regional Park District held their second of three Second Sunday in the Park at Big Break Visitor Center at the Delta last night with a “Navigating the Delta” night.
The event focused around “Navigating the Delta” where activities were games mixed in with educational aspects of the Delta and surrounding nature. Kids learned about the following:
- Summer Bird Migrations
- Salmon Migration
- Construction of the Delta (How did the Delta get here?)
- Navigating the Waterways
And of course, it concluded around a campfire with stories to go along with a question and answer session awhile roasting marshmallows and eating s’mores.
The event also had two surprise guests as US Congressman Jerry McNerney and Brentwood City Councilman Gene Clare attended and joined in the activities.
