Sunday evening was a big moment for Girl Scout Troop 30615 has they recognized their achievements over the past year and held their Bridging Ceremony.  They traded in their brown vests for green and are ready for more responsibilities in the coming years.

The ceremony space was donated by Brownstone Gardens in Oakley and the Troop received a nice surprise from Barbara DuMont who works at the venue. She was a former Girl Scout and passed along a bit of history and items used for ceremonies which have been passed along from Troop to Troop since the 1950’s. With her kids are no longer in girls courts, she thought it was the perfect time to pass it along to allow traditions to continue.

I have to correct one thing, I am not a former Girl Scout. I am proudly a lifetime member of Girl Scouts. Its a wonderful program and open so many doors for the girls. As I told the girls, give me a call and I will teach them to bake cookies in a cardboard box oven!
