The graduation ceremonies at both Freedom High School and Heritage High School scheduled for Saturday June 7 have been moved up 30-minutes according to the Liberty Union High School District website.
The ceremonies were originally scheduled for 9:30 am, however, with high temperatures expected for Saturday, the District wanted to move the times up as a precaution to 9:00 am.
During last year’s graduation ceremonies, 25-people were treated for heat related emergencies which used up all of the Fire Districts resources along with AMR Ambulances stationed in East County.
- 17 patients treated at Heritage High School
- 8 patients treated at Freedom High School
The incidents involved multi-agency cooperation from ECCFPD, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District, American Medical Response, Brentwood Police Department, Oakley Police Department and Contra Costa County Sheriff’s office.

Yes, if you follow his second link, it takes you to the LUHSD web page, where it is clearly listed as 9:00AM. Burk spoon fed you the info, hoping you’d take the initiative to follow his link to the actual announcement. Now I’m further spoon feeding you to confirm your laziness that yes, it is moved UP to 9:00AM vice 9:30AM, as opposed to being moved BACK to 10:00AM. Got it? Get it? Good! Oh, and if you go, since you don’t follow direction too well, I’ll spoon feed this to you as well, eat a healthy breakfast, and hydrate (i.e. drink water) before you go, bring a hat/umbrella/water/sunscreen to protect yourself, and try not to be one of the casualties this year… the fire fighters have enough on their hands without having to treat people who can’t stand a little heat from not properly preparing themselves.
