Oakley: Patient Airlifted After Being Struck by Loading Ramp

At roughly 7:41 pm Thursday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District crews responded to a medical call on the 6300 block of Sellers Ave which required a medical helicopter transport to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.

According to the District, units arrived to find an adult male who had been struck with a car hauler loading ramp and was suffering from internal injuries. The loading ramp was knocked loose from the trailer as the vehicle was being loaded onto the trailer. The ramp struck the victim.

Initial reports was that the vehicle trailer fell onto the victim.

Engine 94, Engine 93, AMR, REACH, Oakley PD and Battalion 5 responded to the incident who were on scene for 49-minutes. The helicopter spot was located at Ironhouse Elementary.
