At about 1:53 PM Tuesday, Oakley Police Officers were dispatched to a shooting on the 4400 of Rose Avenue in Oakley where a 19-year-old later died at a local hospital.
Upon arrival, police located the shooting victim inside his vehicle suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds including a gunshot wound to the head.
He was airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. The 19-year-old victim, an Oakley resident, was pronounced deceased several hours later. He is not being identified at this time.
This case is being jointly investigated by the Oakley Police Department and detectives from the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
Multiple neighbor and witnesses on scene stated that they heard at least 6 gunshots but it may have been more and that the responsible vehicle was a red SUV and sped away shortly after gunfire.

Yes, and it has never had a gang problem.
waste of life for the deceases and the criminal. these young knuckleheads have no respect for life nor their loved ones. they do not realize not only does it affect them but they’re families as well.
