Fire Crews Make Quick Work of Garage Fire in Oakley

At 4:24 am Friday, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District responded to a report of a residential structure fire in the 1800 block of Teresa Lane in the City of Oakley.

While responding, crews observed a column of smoke and upon arrival located smoke and flames coming from a garage. The fire was reported by a neighbor who stated the home should be vacant.

Crews made quick work of the garage fire preventing the spread to other portions of the home and within 40-minutes the fire timer was cancelled. It was stated minimal damage to the other areas of the home while it was believed homeless were living inside the vacant home.

No injuries were report. No other details were available.

Oakley Police Department responded to the scene to provide traffic control and AMR was also on scene.
