At roughly 4:30pm Saturday, Contra Costa County Sheriffs deputies responded to Dutch Slough in Oakley after a shooting left one man shot in the arm on a houseboat.

The Sheriffs deputies and Oakley Police responded where they immediately set up a perimeter and after about an hour-long search, located the suspect in a field a quarter mile away. Police began working the area to collect evidence while also searching the houseboat which was docked on Dutch Slough.

The East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and AMR both responded where a medical helicopter was requested, however, according to Chief Hugh Henderson, the helicopter was cancelled in favor of ground transport. The victims injuries were non-life threatening.

Here are some photographs of the incident once the suspect was in custody.

This new site sucks. Not very user friendly. Kind of cluttered. Lots of pictures of cops faces.
