Oakley City Council Candidate Launches Website

by ECT

Oakley City Council Candidate Dave Hansen has launched his campaign website which should give voters some much needed information about who he is and what he stands for.

Having sat down with him, I can say he is a great person and I truly enjoyed our conversation as he is a principled individual.  He really appears to be doing this for the right reasons which is to improve Oakley which I like.  His platform is solid as his top three priorities if elected would be business, police, and infrastructure.

  • Dave has served as a Volunteer Police Chaplain for the past 10 years with the Contra Costa Sherriff’s Office. He was named Chaplain of the Year for Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office in 2006
  • Recognize Dave’s voice? You may have heard him announcing the football games for Freedom High School Freshman and JV. He also runs the scoreboard during the Varsity game.
  • Dave has also been a referee for several of the local sports at the Middle School level
  • Served as a Youth and Senior Pastor for over 25 years

While I may not agree 100% with him, he is clearly the best candidate by far after Kevin Romick and Diane Burgis which is good enough to earn a seat at the table which is all that matters at the end of the day. I thought going into this Doug Hardcastle would be the clear favorite for a seat, but after my research on Ironhouse Sanitary District, anyone who raises rates every year since 1999/2000 gets no political support from me even if he is a nice guy.

The list of Oakley Candidates includes:

Where is the Ron Borland love Mr. Burkholder, or will you refuse to mention him in any other capacity than he is running while you promote every other candidate who does something as minor as launch a website. Ron Borland also has a website, he has also written a few articles recently which have gone unreported. I suggest Mr. Burkholder play fair going forward.

In the meantime, I will be working hard to make sure Kevin Romick is given his pink slip in November since the City Manager deal and his travel bills he has racked up at our expense.

While i have nothing against Dave Hansen, I can appreciate his record. I can also appreciate the intel on Doug Hardcastle, he is now out! So first off, thank you for sharing that, however, you are playing favorites to Mayor Romick even when talking about another candidate when you are likely involved somehow in his campaign. What is your end game here with these posts that really are promotional pieces for specific candidates.

Ron Borland is a capable candidate and you should give him more respect than you have been giving him.

Joker, if I was working for Kevin Romick’s campaign, I would never let him use those colors. That should answer your question.

In viewing Mr. Hansens website, I wish he would provide more information on what he plans to do for Oakley. It barely says anything. Ron Borland on the other hand, has an entire platform and written many articles about how crooked Oakley has become under Kevin Romick and council. Your cheap shot at Hardcastle was uncalled for. Borland, Hardcastle, and Burgis get my vote.

Mr. Burkholder is a biased observer with no real accomplishments in the community. He is only putting down Mr. Hardcastle because he is running for his seat at Ironhouse. Yes, they raised rates, where would we be without those rates increase? Probably in a lot of trouble. Mr. Hardcastle is the best candidate of everyone running for council because he has the most invested in the community and has proven to be fair.

Is this the same Doug Hardcastle who was asked to leave the Chamber because he did nothing? If the current members had guts, they would ask the same of Doug Scheer.

How silly and off topic this has become. While entertaining to read the jabs back and forth, wasn’t the purpose to simply let you Oakley residents know a candidate has launched a website for his campaign? Good grief you people are wound up!

Well the Ron Borland crowd gave me all the more reason not to vote with him based off their antics. Remember, its always the supporters of a candidate who you need to pay attention to. If they are crazy, the candidate is also crazy!
