As thunderstorms hit East Contra Costa County Tuesday afternoon, hail began falling around 1:30 pm at a high rates for a short while. Hail was also reported again at around 4:30 pm. Several readers snapped photographs of the hail and shared them on our Facebook Page. We wanted to pass them along to those who are not on social media or may have been inside working. The hail was reported in parts of Brentwood, Knightsen, Oakley and Pittsburg.

Having been out in these two storms, I can say it was no fun! Then again this only happens once a year so it wasn’t that bad.
Driving home around 5p, Antioch to Oakley, it was hailing, but nothing like these pictures. Fun to look at – thanks for sharing!
