Byron: Fire Destroys Boat, Heavy Damage to Building

At 4:45 am Thursday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a boat fire inside of a building located ¼ mile South of Vasco on Walnut Blvd in Byron.

Upon arrival, crews located a boat fire inside of a metal structure where the fire extended into cabinets and the office space inside the building. Firefighters quickly secured the scene and began a fire attack.

According to the ECCFPD, the boat was a complete loss with heavy damage to the structure. A total of 12 firefighters were required and crews were on scene for nearly 2 hours.
