Video: Oakley Police Chief Talks Active Shooter Training

by ECT

On January 2, the Oakley Police Department held a multi-agency active shooter training at Freedom High School in an effort to work on techniques and improve communication between the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District an AMR along with neighboring police agencies.

In the video, Oakley Police Chief Eric Christensen talks about the training and the purpose behind it.

Participating agencies included the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office, Contra Costa County Probation, Pittsburg Police, Brentwood Police and others.

It looks like they need “Don’t Shoot A Fellow Officer” training after seeing the officer use his gun as a pointer aiming it directly at another at the 0:38 second mark

Rick, I saw that, he definitely needs some added training. But then that is what this is for. Hopefully the reviewers caught that.

Is this a video on how to totally fuck up an active shooter drill? I had week 2 basic training class conduct better missions than that. I really hope these are like the “B” team and only used when the real guys are out.

So? Bottoms? You go around kicking corpses? I’m sure you had a blast at your parents’ funeral!

Well, I have indeed nudged many dead bodies. Conducted lots of raids in Iraqi providences and when we came across a body we had to tap it to make sure they weren’t alive. You see the Geneva Convention states we must stop a surrender first aid if our enemy or Target was alive. So if we would believe them to be hostile we would nudge them with out foot while still having our rifles pointed at them just in case they were still alive and holding a fire arm. We would never just blindly bend down and touch them letting us to be exposed to danger. So yeah when my mother passed away from cancer I was on a C-5 heading back to Germany from Balad, so I didn’t have a chance to kick her. Thanks for asking though. So maybe the police officer was checking for survivors which he probably was and making sure the A/O was clear of any hostiles. Because I’m an active shooter we have no idea who the enemy is. Have a great day
