At 9:39 pm Monday, law enforcement and East Contra Costa Fire responded to a report of a shooting on Dutch Slough Road near Bethel Island Road in the unincorporated Oakley.
Law enforcement arrived on scene to a female who was shot in the leg.
Preliminary information was that a female arrived home to her trailer where a male suspect shot her and ran off. The male suspect was described as wearing all black clothing headed in the direction of Bethel Island.
Police are currently on scene investigating and searching for the suspect.
By 10:11 pm, a medical helicopter landed to transport the female victim to a local hospital.
By 10:55 pm, after a search, police took a suspect into custody who was matching the description provided. No other details were released.
Update: Deputies Arrest Suspect in East County Shooting
On Monday, April 6, 2020, at about 9:38 PM, Deputy Sheriffs were dispatched a report of a shooting at the 2600 block of Dutch Slough Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County.
Deputies arrived on scene finding a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect reportedly fled the scene. The woman was taken to a hospital by helicopter.
A Sheriff’s Office K-9 located the suspect hiding nearby in a shed on Dutch Slough Road. He surrendered and was taken into custody.
The suspect is identified as 44-year-old Terrell Medley of Oakley. He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on charges that include attempted murder, assault, burglary, and drug charges. Medley also had two warrants for his arrest. He is being held in lieu of $1,130,000 bail.
