The City of Oakley kicks off its 13th Annual Oakley Science Week today. This yearʹs program will begin today at Creekside Park and run through April 12 with 8 free interactive workshops.

This program is free to children of all ages and their families. The City is urging parents to keep in mind that while the weekend workshops are appropriate for all ages, the weekday workshops are geared toward elementary school‐age children (ages 5‐11). Parents must stay on site with their children as there will be many interactive activities and parents may be required to help their child.

There is no need to register, just pick up your ʺPassport to Scienceʺ and start collecting your stamps. ʺPassportsʺ are available at City Hall and at each workshop. The flyer acts as the participant’s “Passport to Science” so they should bring their “passport” each day they attend and they will receive a stamp for that day.

Children up to age 17 who attend a minimum of 5 workshops and receive a stamp on their ʺPassportʺ will receive a special prize at the end of the program. The flyer acts as the participant’s “Passport to Science” so they should bring their “passport” each day they attend and they will receive a stamp for that day.
