Sheriff’s Office Investigating “Inappropriate Behavior” by Staff Member at O’Hara Park Middle School

by ECT

A letter went out this week to several hundred O’Hara Park Middle School parents regarding a potential “inappropriate behavior” by a former staff member. The incident is currently under investigation so little details are being made available at this time.

According to Jimmy Lee, spokesperson for the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office, said he could confirm that an investigation is taking place, but cannot provide any further details at this time.

The Letter below reads:

Dear Parent:

You are receiving this letter because you may be contacted by representatives of the Sheriff’s Detective Office regarding an investigation they are conducting. The investigation relates to possible inappropriate behavior by a former staff member. Given the limited contact this individual had with students, we have no reason to believe your child’s safety was at risk.

The Sheriff’s office will not attempt to contact your child without first attempting to talk to you. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Detective Emily Amott 925-313-2743.

O’Hara Park cooperates fully with law enforcement and your child is our number one priority.

Sincerely

Colleen Creswell
