The Walnut Creek Police Department worked in conjunction with the Oakley Police Department Monday afternoon to conduct a Search Warrant that was served at a residence in Oakley.

The search occurred sometime between noon and 1:00 pm at a residence on Neroly Rd which caused the road to be blocked for little while.  The case was not identified by name, but one of the residents was already in-custody on a charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  The search was conducted to seek out additional evidence in the case.

According to Sgt. Mike McLaughlin of the Walnut Creek Police Department, a few items of evidence were recovered from the residence and there was no additional arrests made yesterday.

“The search was somewhat successful. Oakley PD was instrumental in the arrest on Monday and provided exemplary assistance to our department in this entire investigation. The crime was significantly violent. One of two suspects are in custody and 1 firearm was recovered during the arrest,” said Sgt. McLaughlin.

I assume this had to do with the Assault reported by the CC Times on Oak Road in Walnut Creek on Sunday night?

I’m happy to see that the surrounding cities are looking at places where you would least expect criminals to be hiding out! It will deter other criminals from thinking that Antioch, Oakley, and Brentwood are great hiding places!! Keep up the great work!
