A little bit of information on US Army Sgt. Brandon Hyman via Diablo Valley Flag Brigades website:

Brandon attended basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in 2008, then went on to Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland, for AIT training as a Track Vehicle Mechanic. In 2009, Brandon was selected for an extended training program in Track Vehicle Recovery and then assigned to the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Brandon deployed to Afghanistan in May of 2010, where he served at Camp Blackhorse, near Kabul and then at Camp Gamberi, in Jalalabad. Just 3 weeks before Brandon was scheduled to return home, his base was hit and several of his brothers in the 101st were killed.

In 2012, Brandon reenlisted and was transferred to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He became part of the 77th Engineering Company. Three months later, he was again deployed to Afghanistan. This time to Camp Leatherneck, in the southern Kandahar area.

Brandon will be going on to his next assignment reporting to Germany in July 2014, for a 3 year assignment. He was notified that shortly after the relocation, he will be deploying to Kuwait for 9 months.

During Brandon’s AIT training, he met a National Guard Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic trainee, named Amanda Colbeck. They are married and have 2 beautiful little girls, Kylie and Bryane.

Brandon also has a younger brother, CTTSN Michael Keane, serving in Naval Intelligence, currently assigned to the USS Chosin stationed in Pearl Harbor.
