On Friday, September 11, the Veterans of Oakley held a 9/11 Commemoration at the Oakley Veterans Memorial with representatives from the Oakley Police Department, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District, AMR, and the military.
The 15-minute event was meant to pay tribute and thank those who continue to protect the United States. The event concluded with a presentation of a wreath and members of the community laying down flowers at each marker.
