A strong odor was reported around 8:18 this morning coming from Bridgehead Road that had East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and the Oakley Police Department rushing to the scene to investigate. Upon arrival, Engine 93 made contact with PG&E crews and determine that gas was released as part of testing. Crews were on scene for less than 10 minutes.

Thankfully, this was a false alarm. That being said, this could have been avoided had PG&E and the City of Oakley improved their communication.
