Shortly before 6:40 pm Friday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a vehicle accident that involved three cars on Empire Ave in Oakley.
The three-vehicle incident on Empire Ave occurred just passed Sauterne way shutdown the northbound direction of traffic along Empire as crews worked the scene. In the accident, a truck struck a fence and partially went into a backyard of a home on Chablis Ct.
Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Engine 82 responded to the incident as Engine 93 was in Knightsen on a possible commercial fire at Knightsen Elementary School. AMR was also on scene.
Police did not provide any details on the crash, however, a man was detained and had trouble walking on his own power and was verbally abusive to police–its possible the crash may have been DUI related.
