Oakley Set to Address Orchard Park School Traffic and Parking

by ECT

The City of Oakley and the Antioch Unified School District announced Friday that steps are being taken to improve pick up and drop off traffic issues at Orchard Park School on Live Oak Avenue.

The City stated that they will be issuing new signing and striping along Live Oak Avenue in front of Orchard Park School to improve the traffic and parking operations in this area.

The City of Oakley Police and Public Works Departments, along with the Traffic consulting team and the Orchard Park School representatives have been working on concepts to improve the safety for pedestrians and motorists on Live Oak Avenue in front of the school.

The new plan will create a dedicated left turn lane to the Orchard Park School parking lot; parallel parking spots will be created along the curb line in front of the school site, and new signs and striping will delineate the traffic lanes for the motorists.
These improvements will be installed in the next few weeks.

I love this town. Hate for a problem, hate for a fix. So nice to live in a town without real problems so this is the kind of stuff people complain about.
