Thursday Ridership Among BART’s Five Biggest

by ECT

BART safely carried 486,596 customers Thursday, February 4, 2016, eclipsing a ridership total set in August 2013 during the Bay Bridge closure for the number five spot on BART’s highest ridership days. Only the four recent sports victory parades stand higher on BART’s Top Ten list

BART-Busy-DayThursday’s benchmark comes one day after BART carried 471, 663 customers with 96% on-time performance. Average weekday ridership over the past seven months has been 431,332.

BART is running longer trains on the busiest routes thanks, in part, to BART’s award-winning train maintenance workers who scrambled to complete non-essential maintenance to train cars to make more available for service.

Some tips for riders:

  • Customers heading to Super Bowl City or the NFL Experience are encouraged to use Montgomery St. Station as an alternative to the Embarcadero Station.
  • Buy a round trip ticket or make sure your Clipper Card has sufficient funds before beginning your BART trip.
  • Use a bus connection, bicycle, walk or have someone drop you off at BART instead of hunting for a parking spot.
  • Check the BART QuickPlanner and the All Nighter bus schedule if you are out late at night.
