Oakley Police Search for Suspect Who Assaults Rite Aid Manager, Hit and Run Crash

At approximately 1:50 pm Monday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a report of an assault in progress at the Rite Aid on Main Street where a male assault the store manager and a female in the City of Oakley.

While responding, it was relayed to officers that the suspect fled in a white Chevy Malibu at a high rate of speed. A short-time later the vehicle caused a crash and Main Street and Bridgehead Road. The suspect vehicle continue to flee west into the City of Antioch. At least one person was transported with injuries from the crash.

By 2:00 pm, the vehicle was located at an address on Cavallo Road in the City of Antioch. Oakley Police was joined by Contra Costa County Sheriffs Deputies. After a search of the home, the suspect was not located and is currently still outstanding.

A search of the vehicle revealed a small dog which was turned over to a relative. The vehicle was towed.
