Oakley Police Respond to Shots Fired, Suspect Vehicle Escapes

On Tuesday, November 29th, at 6:28 p.m., Oakley PD received a shots fired detail at/ near Star and 2nd streets.

Officers were near the area investigating an unrelated detail and one officer saw an older maroon Chevrolet Impala leaving the area of the shots call at a high rate of speed.

The Officer pursued the suspect vehicle through the city from W. Cypress Rd and O’ Hara Ave onto other surface streets where the suspect vehicle struck one stopped car, causing minor damage, along with knocking down a stop sign. The pursuit entered the city of Antioch on E. 18th and the Officer/ Supervisor terminated the pursuit based on conditions/ safety to the public at E. 18th and Phillips Lane.

A broadcast was commenced by Dispatch notifying local agencies along with a notification to local hospitals in case any injuries associated to the shooting occurred.

So far, there have been no reports of injuries and no further reports of damage to any structures or cars. The case is an active investigation with lead information developed regarding the driver of the Maroon Chevrolet Impala.

Oakley Police Investigations is asking the public to provide any information that will directly assist in the investigation and positive identification of the subject.
