Aren’t there real crimes that should be focused on?? Zero tolerance for shoplifting food?? REALLY!?! Did it ever occur to them that they may just be hungry??

Reginald Jamal Brown Jul 13, 2014 - 11:25 am

You mean hungry for steak, beer, and hard alcohol? ..p..l..e..a…s..e… it’s not like they were stealing baby formula or cheerios. Even I could barely afford the good stuff they had in their trunk.

It wasn’t for basic sustenance, more like they were having a nice BBQ party….go cry me a river… LMAO.

It was obvious it was more then that if ur hungry steal food not beer they did it cuz they didn’t wanna pay for there shit

I felt for these sad looking kids too until I looked more closely at the pictures. Hard liquor, beer and fat steaks, they were not hungry they were looking to party.

Are you bored ECT? Shoplifting? This is not newsworthy

Reginald Jamal Brown Jul 13, 2014 - 11:26 am

I think it is news.

You may not shop at this Lucky’s often or at all but you pretty much have to check out a hand basket if you don’t want a cart. There is so much shoplifting from this store that innocent shoppers have to jump through hoops that you would not expect.

Julio Jul 13, 2014 - 12:01 pm

Absolutely it is a crime! It raises our grocery costs. They did have good taste. Stuff I cannot afford to buy.

This is news! Jul 13, 2014 - 12:11 pm

Nunya has a thief mentality. These aren’t items you steal for hunger, this is greed.

Ryan Jul 13, 2014 - 12:58 pm

Agree.. Not sure why this is a news article. Petty thefts from grocery stores occur numerous times a day..

rainman Jul 13, 2014 - 2:23 pm

Really shop lifting not that serious go catch some real criminals

FDG Jul 13, 2014 - 2:45 pm

It’s a crime that costs us all when we purchase our groceries. The stores pass the cost on to us consumers. So kodos to Oakley PD

Yes Man Jul 13, 2014 - 3:21 pm

ECT has reported on grocery store thefts in the past. Why shouldn’t this story be any different? Hmmmm. You do the crime, you do the time. Period!

Chuck Jul 13, 2014 - 4:04 pm

Zero Tolerance is a great policy for thieves. Stealing from another is wrong. Before you know it the thieves will start collecting welfare, going on section 8, and shooting each other. Oakley is doing its part to stop that behavior. Good job. Hook em up and take em away.

For why Jul 13, 2014 - 5:23 pm

Geez people, a crime is a crime. Shouldn’t all crimes be addressed with zero tolerance? I think so.

Reginald Jamal Brown Jul 13, 2014 - 7:20 pm

There are so many criminal minded people on this side of the Bay Area, it’s almost unbelievable. What’s more astounding is the number of crime supporters who blabber their incoherent, grammatically incorrect and misspelled BS on this news blog.

At least get an elementary school education before trying to debate against grown ups.

For why Jul 13, 2014 - 7:27 pm

Keep it up ECT’s. These low life’s need to be exposed. Thanks

Elena Jul 13, 2014 - 8:48 pm

Funny, the reactions, if we arrest thieves, we are doing to much, if we let them go on about their thieving business we are not doing enough. Cannot please idiots all the time. If they had stolen from Mr Nunya, wonder what the reaction would be??

Ernie Jul 14, 2014 - 9:52 am

Obviously Nunya was firing up the coals, and getting her beer pong table ready for a good time. Sorry Oakley P.D ruined your BBQ. Hey, here’s a thought…GET A F***ING JOB! Oakley P.D needs to stay on top of these hood rats, so they stay out of our city! Great Job Oakley P.D, Great Job ECT. Next time lets get some mug shots so we all recognize them around town!

Reginald Jamal Brown Jul 14, 2014 - 11:22 am

LMAO! I completel agree, Ernie.

These ghetto hood rats are like an infestation to society.

In Antioch a shop lifter will get a ticket, and that’s if they are caught. Why not zero tolerance? Maybe next time they will shop lift in a city that’s more friendly to there life style. Crime starts some where, next time they might try residential burglary if they haven’t already. Great job OPD ! You probably kept someone’s home from being burged tonight, maybe one of these sympathizes who thinks shoplifting is not a crime.

Chuck Jul 14, 2014 - 5:49 pm

I’m with you Ernie and Reginald. Get a job. Good job Oakley PD. No tickets. Hook Them up and take them to jail. We need an East County Jail. How about it Sheriff?

:) Jul 15, 2014 - 8:22 pm

Great job Oakley Police. Keep the trash in Antioch.

Mike Jul 22, 2014 - 4:48 am

The Trash is coming to a City near your as we speak. Folks get up in the morning to go stealing and other fun activities daily. Keeping the thin Blue Line out there is our only hope .
