Just after 2:00 pm Thursday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at Hill Avenue and Main Street in the City of Oakley.
While responding, it was reported a vehicle was fleeing from the area headed towards the city of the Brentwood and upon arrival, officers located a male who had been shot in the head. The incident prompted a lockdown at Gehringer School.
A medical helicopter was requested for the victim who was conscious and alert who was then taken to a local hospital.
Oakley Police are in the early stages of this shooting investigation and by 3:12 pm, the school lockdown was lifted.
