Oakley Library Seeks Enthusiastic Summer Reading Teen Volunteers

by ECT

The Oakley Library is looking for enthusiastic and energetic teens to help library staff with the 2016 Summer Reading Festival: STEAM: Engage. Inspire.  Succeed.

Volunteers will spruce up the library, help with programs, track supplies and prizes, explain the Summer Reading Program to participants of all ages and assist with record keeping.  Teens must be dependable and responsible in their time commitment, and must be in 9th grade or above in the fall.  Volunteering at the library is a good way to spend a few of your summer hours, interact with readers of all ages and contribute to your community library.

Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 10 hours and will be assigned one to two 2 1/2 or 3 hour shifts per week from June 3-July 30.

All interested volunteers must fill out an application available at the Oakley Library and return it on or before the mandatory orientation on Thursday, May 26 at 3:30 at the Oakley Library.  If unable to attend this orientation, other arrangements can be made. For more information please contact Julie Perry at the Oakley Library – 925-625-2400 or [email protected].
