Oakley: Firefighters Limit Vintage Parkway Vegetation Fire to 1-Acre, Save Homes

Around 2:22 pm Thursday, firefighters responded to the Vintage Parkway and Main Street in Oakley along the railroad tracks after a vegetation fire was reported.

East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Engine 93 arrived to find an approximate one-fourth acre vegetation fire which was threatening multiple homes and immediately called for backup due to the threatened homes along Lakespring Dr..

Engine 93 and Contra Costa County Engine 88 were able to control the blaze as Engine 54 arrived to assist with mop up. The fire was limited to 1-acre and damage was limited to a wood fence that separated the property lines and vegetation’s.

The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined while crews were on scene for 1-hour and 14-minutes.
