At 2:35 pm Monday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters responded to a report of a residential fire on Dutch Slough Road in Oakley.
Smoke was reported from Stations 93 in Oakley and Station 94 in Knightsen. While responding, Engine 94 reported flames showing from E. Cypress Road. Upon arrival, units observed a home fully involved home with a power pole on fire and wires down.
Units from Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and CALFIRE also responded to the incident which was contained to a single property.
According to dispatch preliminary information was the home was vacant and no one was injured. The fire may have been started by squatters in the home, however, that has not yet been determined.
