Oakley: Driver Airlifted After Vehicle Crash at St. Anthony’s Church

At 11:07 am Sunday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District responded to a report of a vehicle crash at O’Hara avenue at W. Cypress Road in the City of Oakley.

Upon arrival, Engine 53 located a solo vehicle off the roadway into the parking lot of St. Anthony Church. A medical helicopter was requested due to major injuries sustained in the crash which the helicopter landed at O’Hara Park Middle School.

No other injuries were reported and the crash is under investigation by Oakley Police.

AGAIN!!???? Wasn’t it just a few months ago at this SAME intersection where there was the rollover minivan, and I believe 1 person died? Police chief needs to make traffic enforcement a top priority. East end of Laurel is a friggin speedway. Go see the rubber on the asphalt at Quail Valley. It’s endless the morons using Laurel as their 1/4 mile drag strip. OPD needs to start posting up, in the right spots. Delta, Laurel, Cypress @ O’Hara…

Main through downtown can be overlooked. It’s generally a parking lot, thanks planners.
