The Oakley Police Department on Tuesday announced the promotions of Sergeant Robert Roberts and Sergeant Logan Cartwright to the rank of Lieutenant. The effective dates of the promotions will be March 13th, 2022.
Lieutenant Roberts will become the Operations Division Commander, while Lieutenant Cartwright will become the Support Services Division Commander. Lieutenants Roberts and Cartwright will be tasked with running the administrative duties of their respective Divisions.
Lieutenants Roberts and Cartwright fill voids that have been left vacant for a period of time and their presence as Division Commanders is greatly needed.
LIEUTENANT ROBERT ROBERTS
Lieutenant Roberts started his career in 1995 when he went to work for the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office. Lieutenant Roberts worked in the detention and patrol divisions, and he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Lieutenant Roberts was a police canine handler and he managed the canine unit for the Sheriff’s Office. While under contract with the Sheriff’s Office, Lieutenant Roberts worked for the Oakley Police Department. He remained with the Oakley Police Department when they became a standalone department in 2016. Lieutenant Roberts has worked patrol and investigations for the Oakley Police Department at the rank of Sergeant. Lieutenant Roberts is a valued member of the local community.
LIEUTENANT LOGAN CARTWRIGHT
Lieutenant Logan Cartwright started his career in 2002 when he went to work for the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office. Lieutenant Cartwright worked in the detention and patrol divisions. Lieutenant Cartwright is a home-grown product of Oakley, having lived here his whole life. Lieutenant Cartwright always wanted to work for his hometown, so he transferred to the Oakley Police Department when it was under a contract agreement with the Sheriff’s Office. Lieutenant Cartwright stayed with the Oakley Police Department when it became a standalone department in 2016. Lieutenant Cartwright was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2017 and he is our resident traffic enforcement expert. In addition to traffic enforcement, Lieutenant Cartwright has worked patrol and investigations for the Oakley Police Department
