Firefighters Quickly Knock Down Bedroom Fire in Oakley Home

At 9:16 pm Thursday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District Firefighters responded to a report of a house on fire in the 4300 block of Silverado Drive in the City of Oakley.

The District received a call by a neighbor reporting they could see smoke and flame coming from the interior of a home.  Engine 53 arrived on scene to the home to locate smoke coming from the backside of the house. Crews quickly made entry into the home and knocked down the fire which was coming from a first flood bedroom. Crews limited the fire to the bedroom and exterior wall with extensive smoke damage throughout the house.  No injuries were reported.

The fires cause was deemed “electrical” in nature. No further details were provided.

The crews quick response thanks to a neighbor and actions taken by Engine 53 crew saved the entire house from catching fire. Contra Costa County Fire Protection District also responded as part of automatic aid.
