The Oakley Police Department announced Wednesday that a vehicle that rear ended a police patrol vehicle was the result of a DUI.
Police announce via social media that at approximately 11:50am Wednesday, an Oakley Police Department officer was driving on Laurel Rd near the Hwy 4 Bypass. The Officer was stopped at a red light and while stopped, his vehicle was hit from behind by another motorist.
The investigation at the scene revealed the driver of the second vehicle was under the influence of alcohol. This driver was arrested and transported to the Oakley Police Department for processing.
The Officer sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
