April 4-10: Oakley Police Calls Plus Carjacking Arrest

The following is a sampling of the Oakley Police Calls over the past week reported between April 4-10 which focuses on the higher priority call responses.

CARJACKING SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Thursday, April 8th, at around 4:00 p.m., Oakley Police Officers were dispatched to a business in the 4500 block of Main Street. A female had entered a restaurant, leaving her vehicle running and her 7-year-old daughter in the back seat. An unknown male entered the unlocked vehicle, forcing the 7-year-old out. The vehicle was located nearby shortly after, by officers patrolling the area. They were also able to locate a suspect matching the description who was identified by witnesses and other evidence.

He was arrested and was taken to the Martinez Detention Center for booking.

The Oakley Police Department would like to remind its community to LOCK IT; HIDE IT; KEEP IT. You should never leave your running vehicle unattended.

STALKING SUSPECT ARRESTED

On Friday, April 9th, at around 11:20 p.m., Oakley Police Officers returned to the 2000 block of Main Street reference a possible stalking suspect in the parking lot. Prior in the week, a victim had reported that a male customer had possibly been stalking her. Upon their arrival, the suspect vehicle had fled, however officers were able to locate the vehicle nearby, with the suspect still in the vehicle. The suspect, John Cobb (30; M) admitted to following the victim to her residence. Cobb was arrested for stalking and other narcotics-related charges and taken to the Martinez Detention Center for booking.
