A mother of a Freedom High School student has informed us earlier this week that her son was mugged after school for his cell phone. She is encouraging students to be on more alert and to watch out for suspicious behavior.
On Wednesday afternoon, her son was walking home when he was attacked from behind on Brown Road by an unknown subject. He was able to fight off the attack and sustained a minor head injury after being put in a headlock before help arrived. Once aid come to help her son, the subject took off.
The incident occurred within a three minutes walk from the school. The subject is described as a 18-20 year old non-Freedom High School student. He was wearing a grey hoodie and blue sweatpants The subject is approximately 5’8 -5’9 Brown hair, brown eyes most likely Latin or light skinned black
The teenager’s mother is asking kids to be on alert of someone asking to borrow a phone by the high school minutes after the bell rings. If anyone knows who the subject is, she is asking they contact Oakley Police.

Not the first time this has happened! It happened a few monthes ago too. This one happened in the morning. School is aware of that and police were callef.
Doesn’t everyone have phones these days. And most kids have the newest and greatest phones. This is just BS. Glad the HS boy is ok and he wasn’t hurt. Did the POS actually get the phone?
I guess my question was,,,,,,,,,, is this suspect a high school student????? I understand non freedom student 😉

That same day the same description of the guy took someone’s cell phone at liberty high school . She was walking behind me and he took it out of her pocket .
@ ECVs Brother
Once again, you run your mouth with bitterness and yet offer NO solution.
I think cameras and sadly added security, along with traffic guards are a must.
So unless you have something positive to offer John ECVs just go pound sand.
This really sickens my…..I’m down right scared to death that my son will be starting Freedom next year… This is what we as parents have to worry about?????. Do we have to hire private security guards to protect against the scum that has invaded Oakley
…God please watch over our kids….
