The City of Oakley celebrated its 14th Birthday yesterday and threw a large party at the Freedom High basin that concluded with a fireworks show. The event featured vendors, food, play area for the kids. Assemblyman Jim Frazier was on hand to present the City of Oakley and Mayor Kevin Romick with a proclamation. Supervisor John Gioia was also on hand to check out the festivities and see some fireworks as he shared no one else is holding a fireworks display and wanted to see them. The event appeared to be up in attendance from last year.
Also, kudos to the many Oakley police officers who were on hand to keep the peace.
