The New Life Ministries in Oakley hosted a Water Safety Day which was aimed to help educate the public on safety around water. The event was highlighted by the Oakley Police Department providing a K-9 demonstration.
The event also featured the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District where children had the chance to meet the firefighters and explore the fire engine. American Medical Response also had their rig setup to allow kids to see the inside of the ambulance while the Sheriffs Marine Patrol had boats for the kids to look at.
The great thing about this event is that the first 225 kids under 90lbs received a free life jacket.
