The Oakley Police Department found itself on Freedom High School campus this morning around 10:30 am investigating what appears to be a suspicious phone call involving a bomb threat.

My sources are telling me that there was no evacuation and some students didn’t even know police were on campus.  A couple of parents have called the school, but claim staff was denying anything was occurring. However, the photographs of four police vehicles on campus say otherwise.

Update: 6:15 pm

At 4:30 pm, we received an email from Oakley Police Chief Bani Kollo confirming that Oakley Police were on scene because of an anonymous call to evacuate the school as STAR testing was happening.  Oakley Police, along with school staff, searched the school as a precaution. He also confirmed no evacuation was ordered.

Another case of the school district not wanting to keep parents up to date with the safety of their kids. Even if its not a major incident, at least let us know so the rumors stop. I for one would rather this turn out to be false than left wondering. The pictures are telling because it does show something DID HAPPEN

how can the school deny something happened when you have police vehicles out front? I know you like the police Burk, but come on!
