bethel island boat sinks edit

A 50-ft sail boat on Bethel Island was reported sinking this morning as Nate Anderson was kind enough to provide this shot today. Authorities are aware of the boat and are working on the next steps. We do not yet have information on why the boat sank or when it exactly occurred, but its been within the past 24-hours.

Check back for details.

That does not look like a sailboat. Where is the mast?

The more I look at it it looks like the flying bridge of a yacht but I don’t know about 50 ft.

That is a Boston 25, you can tell by the flying bridge railing and definitely NOT a sailboat. A sailboat requires a mast and stanchions and halyards to hold the mast up. Most motored sailboats have those types of mast configurations,so it is understandable that one might get them confused.
