At roughly 8:23 am Saturday, a vehicle traveled through a gate and into the Oakley Police Department parking lot and crashed into a police vehicle.

According to police, the driver of a hybrid made a right hand turn into the Black Bear Diner parking lot and hit the curb and instead of hitting the break, the female driver hit the gas and went through the gate and into the police lot and totaling both vehicles. The driver was okay.

No further information was provided.

I appreciate the articles on here (often they inform us before news makes it to other sources). The photos are generally very good, too. I hope this won’t be taken in the wrong way, but…could you please be more attentive to spelling? Misspelled words tend to detract from the professionalism of a journalistic source.

I can’t imagine informing my insurance company that I hit and totaled a police vehicle!

Brake on the left, gas on the right. It’s really not that complex….
