Vehicle Crash Knocks Out Power to 2,550 PG&E Customers in Oakley and Bethel Island

At 7:40 pm Friday, the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District and Oakley Police responded to a report of a vehicle crash at E Cypress Road and Bethel Island Road in the City of Oakley.

Upon arrival, it was reported that a vehicle rolled over into a field while taking out a power pole as well as knocked down several other lines. The occupant of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.

According to the PG&E website, 2,250 customers were without power in both Oakley and Bethel Island with no estimated time of restoration.

According to ECCFPD, Bethel Island Road will be closed for up to 4-hours. Drivers will need to utilize Sandmound Blvd.
