Suspected DUI Driver Strikes Oakley Home

by ECT

At 10:03 pm Saturday, the Oakley Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle into a structure in the 1900 block of Cinnamon Ridge Drive in the City of Oakley.

Upon arrival, police located a vehicle into a house, however, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Police caught up to the male driver about 10-houses away and took him into custody. The driver was in his early 20’s.

Police performed a field sobriety test which they say confirmed he was well above the legal limit and was placed under arrest. He was then transported to a local hospital.

No one inside the home was injured according to East Contra Costa fire.  A building inspector was also requested to check on the structure.

No other information was available.

Why is there a video of him crying and getting into the ambulance? I get reporting the story but the video is uncalled for.

Wait, so he wrecks into someone’s living room, flees on foot without checking on the occupants of the house and you think the video is bad? Your the problem, wish you weren’t allowed to vote!

Exactly, maybe the shame from having the community see him reduced to a sniveling mess will convince him to get some help with his drinking issues. There are not enough consequences for behaving badly these days, those who are in favor of hiding the ugly side of humanity think life is a fairy tale but drunk driving is a life and death matter that needs full exposure.

Anon,is this a someone you know? A family member? Does it bother you to see them upset? Folks on these chats are always talking about “learning” from behavior and events. Well I can see no better learning than seeing yourself drunk on camera after catching a huuuge break. Yes he hit a house and yes it’s probably gonna cost him financially, but no one is dead or hurt. The house will be fixed and he will be ok,albeit a little lighter in the wallet. So in my opinion that’s why show him crying as he gets in the ambulance is a good thing, hell at least he is feeling badly/showing remorse(I hope). Most people’s mug shots we’ve seen lately appear to be proud. Anyways that’s my 2cents
