Patient in Critical Condition After Highway 4 Vehicle Rollover Accident

At 9:53 am, East Contra Costa Fire Protection responded to a vehicle rollover accident on Highway 4 near Laurel road that left one patient in critical condition.

According to radio traffic, the vehicle rolled over several times, possibly as many as seven, which one person was ejected. Upon ECCFPD Engine 93 arrival, all patients were out of the vehicle. A medical helicopter was requested, but later cancelled by Engine 93 along with additional resources. All patients were transferred by ground ambulance to a local hospital.

Saw it minutes after it happened.. He looked bad blodd everywhere. His shoes where thrown off his feet. Dont speed!

That is correct, AMR cancelled the helo. The transport ambulance has final say in whether patient goes by ground or air. Also, county Ems is discouraging helicopter use when possible. Flight nurse and flight paramedic are now statistically considered one of the most dangerous jobs to work.
