Oct. 17: Oakley Set to Host Harvest Festival

The City of Oakley will host the Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 17th from 12:00 – 4:00pm at Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street. Admission is FREE.

Wear your funniest, scariest or most creative Halloween costume to march in our parade; all participants will receive a goody bag and all ages are welcome!

Dog owners can bring their canine friends to join the Canine Costume Parade. Register at the DASH (Delta Animals Safe Haven) booth to participate in the parade and receive a free “doggie bag”.

IMG_8764Back by popular demand – satisfy your sweet-tooth at the “Pie Eating Contest”. Black Bear Diner will supply delicious pumpkin pie to challenge the participants. Showcase your creativity by bringing a pre-carved or decorated pumpkin to enter in our Pumpkin Contest.

There is no charge to enter either contest, register at the event (space is limited in the pie eating contest).

Activities will include: glitter tattoos, giant slide, music, arts & crafts, food and more than 30 local vendors.

Schedule of Events:
Noon – 4pm All vendors open
12:15 – Jabris Ruckers’ dance students perform
12:30 – East County Performing Arts dance students perform
1:00 – Canine Costume Parade
1:30 – Costume parade (children and adults)
2:00 – Pie Eating Contest
3:00 – Pumpkin judging contest
