At 12:05 pm Wednesday, East Contra Costa Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire in the area of Sellers Road and Delta Road in the City of Oakley.
The fire department received several calls of black smoke showing.
Upon arrival, Engine 53 reported the vegetation fire was threatening several homes and was going to spread quickly as it was entering heavier vegetation and some trees.
By 12:15 pm, it was reported the fire was about 100-yards from homes on Malicoat Ave and that firefighters were going to make access off Sierra Trail and Teton.
By 12:21 pm, Engine 53 was making good knockdown on the head of the fire. It was also reported the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office was evacuating homes on Crismore Drive.
