Oakley: Two Arrested in Catalytic Converter Thefts

On Tuesday, the Oakley Police Department announced the arrest of two suspects out of the City of Stockton in connection with a catalytic thefts that occurred.

According to Police, at approximately 1:55 am Tuesday, officers were dispatched to the theft of a catalytic converter that had just occurred. Upon their arrival, the suspects had fled, however officers were able to obtain a vehicle description. While conducting their nightly patrol for fast traffic and exhibitionist speeds within the City, officers located a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description.

The vehicle was stopped for traffic violations and after an investigation, evidence of catalytic convertor theft, in addition to three catalytic converters, were discovered.

Damian Ramos (M, 31, Stockton) and Steve Arreola (M, 38, Stockton) were arrested and later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility for the theft(s) and possession of stolen merchandise

Great, the converter thefts are everywhere. Glad these two knuckleheads were stupid enough to pull car stunts with stolen property in the vehicle.

Way to go Oakley PD!!! Problem is the DA in Contra Costa and no bail!
